XRCI Open 2016


Xerox Research Centre India (XRCI), a part of Xerox Innovation Group announces the 3rd XRCI Open, an open innovation exchange to be organized at Bangalore, India on January 21-22, 2016. Xerox has been actively engaging in productive collaborations with Indian academia through a number of initiatives such as research grants and open innovation projects. The goal of XRCI Open is to establish stronger partnerships with the university ecosystem and expose the student community to exciting innovation opportunities at XIG.

This year’s program will have an exciting technical agenda with a Ph.D. Symposium, keynote talks, a competitive and peer-reviewed research colloquia and panel discussions involving renowned people from the academia, industry and students from top-tier Indian institutions.

For this exchange, we solicit proposals on a wide range of areas in Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Humanities, Social Science and other relevant disciplines. Submit your papers for Research Colloquia and nominations for the Doctoral Dissertation Award in one of the following tracks:


Track – I Data Analytics
- Text and Graph Analytics, Social Media Mining, Natural Language Understanding
- Big-Data and Machine Learning as applied to Transportation and Healthcare. Data Fusion Platforms.
- Multi Media and Computer Vision. Deep Learning in Vision and Handwriting recognition.
- Large Vocabulary Speech Recognition, Deep Learning with applications in Speech Recognition, Emotion and Prosody recognition, Text to Speech Systems, Machine learning and Signal Processing methods in healthcare sensing
Track – II Distributed & Mobile Computing
Middleware for Web services, Web service composition, and SOA; Cloud Services, virtualization; Energy and power-aware techniques; Formal methods, verification, and software engineering for middleware; Architectures, protocols, and technologies for mobile and pervasive systems; Participatory/mobile crowd sensing and intelligence; Context modelling and reasoning; Smart devices and internet of things; User interface, interaction, and persuasion
Track – III Algorithm & Optimization
Combinatorial optimization, Approximation/online/randomized algorithms, Game theory and mechanism design, Business process modeling and optimization, Algorithmic aspects of networks, Algorithmic aspects of computing for sustainability, Parallel and distributed algorithms, Experimental algorithms
Track – IV Human Computer Interaction
Social Sciences, Ethnography, Crowdsourcing and Human Computation, Cognitive Science, Work-Practice Study
